What does this mean for you?
A restricted fire season means anyone who wants to light an outdoor fire will need a fire permit authorised by Fire and Emergency, which they can apply for at www.checkitsalright.nz
It is also important to exercise caution when using machinery that may generate sparks, or operating a haangi or barbeque.
If you have any doubts visit www.checkitsalright.nz or phone 09 486 7948
As always, in an emergency where life or property is at risk, call 111 immediately.
Nau mai, haere mai.
